Message from Natalie Natalie Walton. Can you help with feedback please........

Im studying textiles at university and my current project is about making a new business and product. As my neice was born at 25 weeks I thought it would be a brilliant idea to make premature clothing that is affordable and with a wider choice of colours etc. I need some feed back to help along with my project. A few questions I wanted to ask are....
1) what do you think to the price of premature clothes?
2) what did you think to the access of premature clothes? Where they easy to find out shopping/ online?
3) where the clothing sellers based in or out of the uk?
4) what was the delivery like? Did it take long to get to you?

  Hayley Goodyear 1) prices were expensive for what you got.
  2) not easy to find! Mother are only shop I found small enough clothes. More online seen to be small companies. 
  3)more in US than UK. 
  4) never actually ordered online just bought from mother care. Very minimal choice!! 
  
  I think this is an amazing idea! I had a 26 weeker at 1lb7oz and when you spend so many months in hospital you get little time and pleasures with your baby. The first time I dressed my little boy it was so emotional but he only had three vests. Some prem clothes I was bought were poppers and the Velcro ones were much easier to manage when he was so small. Hope this helps. Excellent project! Will bring mums lots of joy and brighten some very difficult days  xxx

  Rachel Allan 1, expensive for the size of material. 
  2, mothercare was only place I knew about for 3lb and 4lb clothes but they've stopped selling them now.

  4. I looked at online but to expensive. I did manage to get 2nd hand off eBay. He had a few to keep him going until he got into tiny baby size.

  2 not a lot of access and not a lot of choice.
  3. Most in uk.
  4 some didn't take long at all.
  I had my first prem 29wks 14yrs ago and not a lot of choice then then had my second 24wks 11yrs ago again not a lot of choice and very expensive
  Just had my third prem 27wks and yes there is more choice but not a great deal.

  Jessica Hawkesley 1) expensive!
  2/3) they were hard to find, managed to get a pack of 3 suits from mothercare that were small enough and that was it! Other stuff was online and not very much choice, more neonatal/incubator vests and we wanted sleep suits! Managed to find small things at tesco, but these fit him at 6 1/2lb when they were up to 5lb!
  4) never ordered from online!
  
  I also found Velcro much better than poppers. I searched all over for things I didn't have to put over his head as this was pretty hard in an incubator! The up to 3lb suits from mothercare were really good for this, take a look at those for some inspiration! But I never found anything else that worked like them!

  Karen Fenton 1) Extremely expensive. Money is usually very tight when you have a baby in nicu, spending £12-15 on 1 outfit or vest was a killer
  2) I only got my few bits from Boots. At the time I didn't have regular access to the internet as was living in parents accommodation, so don't know about online
  3) Boots & Mothercare in the UK. I know a lot of places start at 5-6lb but when your baby is only 2-3lb that's a bit big
  4) My answer to 2 explains this. I just bought from a shop
  
  Moving on from th is I brought my daughter home on oxygen & she stayed on it until 12 months old. All tops, vest etc have to go over her head meaning she had to unplugged to change. Maybe things with necks that open would be good as you can pull up from the feet

  Sara Rhodes That would be so helpful to parents, I work on the NNU at LGI and it is so frustrating for parents, they haven't the time to shop. We are frequently asked if we no where to get tiny clothes. Best of luck.

  Vicky Steel Was Hegarty I purchased a small pink suit from baby direct in Horsforth, the suit was love and very cute but expensive 
  My mum makes small cardigans from wool left over for friends n family xx

  Vickie Evans Expensive for what u got.
  Hard to find - mum in law managed to find some in sainsburys believe it or not.
  I needed a winter suit for when my son was discharged, I could only find one online but it didnt arrive until 3 days after he got home, even after paying for quick delivery. Lucky the nurses wrapped him up warm enough to get to car and finally home. Wish i knew about Premfashions Baby-wear when my Lb was finally discharged, they have gorgeous outfits for premature babies

  Rosalind May Cerqua Easy to find online, delivery was not too bad. Cost for them was ridiculous! As its hardly any material at all. Mothercare did the best premmie babygrows in my opinion. Xxx
